165. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. He will tell his grandchildren how the Lord performed signs that he may know He is God.

Exodus 10
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them
2 that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”

Psalm 46 NKJV
10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

"Know that I am the Lord.”

In the NIV Bible, this phrase appeared in the Book of Exodus 9 times; 68 times in the Old Testament, the most in the Book of Ezekiel, 54 times.

"The Hebrews (descendants of Abraham) spent 430 years in Egypt, at first as privileged guests but later as persecuted laborers.

"Exodus" means exiting, and the book of Exodus tells of the escape from Egypt led by Moses and covers the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness.

God brought 10 plagues on Egypt when Pharaoh would not let the Hebrews go into the wilderness to worship Him.

The final plague was the plague of death, where the oldest child or oldest in a litter of cattle and animals was killed. When Pharaoh's oldest son died, he yielded and allowed the exodus."

"Did the 10 Plagues of Egypt Really Happen?

The plagues are: water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children.

The question of whether Bible stories can be linked to archaeological discoveries is one that has long fascinated scholars. The ten plagues are no exception, and over the years scientists have been curious about whether the story of the plagues may have been based on some event that can be proved to have happened. Here are three of the major theories to know.

Volcanic Eruption
This theory argues that the plagues were really the fallout of volcanic eruption on the island of Santorini in the south of Greece around 1620-1600 BCE.

Red Algae
This theory — put forth by scientists like John S. Marr, an epidemiologist who wrote a 1996 journal article featured in the New York Times — argues that red algae could have sucked oxygen out of Egypt’s waterways, killed the fish and turned the water red.

Climate Change
This addendum to the algae theory points out that, for red algae to flourish in the first place, there needs to be slow, sludgy, warm water."

In my personal life, how can I say that the Lord performed signs that I can say I know He is God?

I thought all along that after college, I would work, have a family, a house, and at least the basic necessities, until come retirement.

It did not happen that way. The Lord had other plans.

My professional life took a detour, being sidetracked for a period of 5 years; I had difficulty getting a stable job all that time.

The basic necessity of sending my children to college was in suspense, simply because I had no money for their tuition fee.

The situation was aggravated when my predicament affected me physically and emotionally.

I was left with nothing but God, I thought my grim situation will never end.

Did I believe that being left with nothing but God, I have more than enough to start over again?

Honestly, I could not really say that back then. I would think you would have had same regard if you were in my place.

The beautiful mystery of God. It is called grace, divine grace. It is undeserved favor, it is a gift.

The Lord gave me the grace to start over again. Amen.

The Lord provided for the college education of my children, from His glorious riches.

He restored my health and my life, and restored me to a decent job.

I wrote this 11 November 2005 - Divine Grace comes anytime. It doesn’t wait for good timing, fair weather or even prayers to come - I cannot remember where I got it.

""God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress" (Psalm 46:1-3, 9-11). "The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice" (Psalm 97:1). Peace on earth, goodwill to men, this I pray this Christmas, in Jesus' name. Amen.

25 December 2017"

My children's children will someday say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; he told us his grandchildren how the Lord performed signs in his very own life that he came to know that the Lord Jesus Christ is God.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
