"Man After God's Own Heart
God's measuring stick for leadership is the heart.
The heart is the most important part of your life. It's not your tongue or your eyes or your ears, it's your heart.
The Bible says that God does not look at what man looks at, man looks at height and stature, at appearance. Man considers fame and influence. The outward appearance is man's greatest obsession, but God's greatest obsession is the inside.
The heart is what matters the
most to God.
The Bible says that the Lord
looks to and fro to find those
whose hearts are fully surrendered to Him. In the Bible, we see this man named David, who was chosen to be the king of Israel in a time when the first king had fallen. The first king had fallen into the fear of man. He had fallen into the paranoia, the jealousy, the anger, the care about self-preservation, the care about his own image, and God was searching for someone who is more concerned about the fear of God than the fear of man.
That's when the Bible says that God found a man who was after His own heart. Yes, David was a man after God's own heart.
The question for you is, are you a woman after God's own heart, a man after God's own heart?
Have you made pursuing God
your greatest aim, or are you more concerned with what people think about you?
Choose to be a man and woman after God's own heart. Even when you're rejected by people, God will still accept you. Choose to be faithful even when you're forgotten. What looks humiliating to you could be preparation for your destiny, so lean in, serve where you are, make the most of the season that you're in, and if nobody sees you, remember the God sees you, remember that God is cheering for you. Choose to repent when you're wrong, choose to repent and come clean before God.
God's forgiveness is waiting on you. God is not looking for perfect people, He's looking for broken people, people who would say, Lord I choose to surrender to You, my heart is Yours. God is not looking for a perfect performance and He's looking for a surrendered heart. A heart that says, God I'm all Yours, search me from the inside out, Lord I want to know you more and I want You to be the Lord of my thoughts, my emotions, my motives, my intentions, God I'm all Yours.
My question for you, are you after God's own heart? It's time today to surrender your heart to Him to say, Lord I need You, Lord I repent of where I've missed it, Lord I receive Your forgiveness, and Lord I want to be a person after Your own heart."
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise. Psalm 51:17
Psalm 51, its words were uttered by David when the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.
That's the case for everyone who takes to heart the fear of God. We cannot act out the fear of God, we cannot mislead God. He knows our heart.
Maybe we will in some way understand the mind of God by reading the Book of Psalms and get to know David, the man after God's own heart, and more importantly, know the heart of God.
We can only come clean before the Lord for him to bless us, there is no otherwise. Our heart has to be right with God for our heart to be right with others. We can only pray honest when our heart is right with God; the Lord, the God of David, is a Compassionate God. Amen.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you. Psalm 130:3-4
""Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding" (Jeremiah 3:15). Lord, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, in Jesus' name. Amen.

May you be blessed with God's Word.
Maraming salamat.
