“You will be remembered by the Lord.”

Numbers 10
9 “When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.”

Psalm 119
41 May your unfailing love come to me, Lord,
    your salvation, according to your promise.
49 Remember your word to your servant,
    for you have given me hope.

Habakkuk’s Prayer

Habakkuk 3
1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. On shigionoth.
2 Lord, I have heard of your fame;
    I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
    in our time make them known;
    in wrath remember mercy.

In Your wrath remember mercy.

Between the time of Moses and the time of Habakkuk, Israel became a powerful kingdom and later Judah would be a separate kingdom.

Before Habakkuk, Jeremiah warned of the Lord's wrath.

This is what the Lord says to you, house of David: “‘Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done— burn with no one to quench it.’” Jeremiah 21:12

I heard and my heart pounded,
    my lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
    and my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity
    to come on the nation invading us.
Though the fig tree does not bud
    and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
    and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
    and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
    I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:16-18

The warning of Jeremiah and Habakkuk was echoed by Apostle Paul.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Apostle Paul considered himself as the worst of sinners yet was shown mercy in Jesus Christ.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:15-16

The prayer of the criminal crucified along with the Lord Jesus.

"Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, the Lord will remember us with His great mercy in Jesus Christ.", this my children's children will say one day.

Lord, "Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. In the night, LORD, I remember your name, that I may keep your law. I remember, LORD, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them. You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. Your compassion, LORD, is great; preserve my life according to your laws. May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise. May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees" (Psalm 119:49, 55, 52, 114, 156, 170, 171). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

28 January 2018"

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
