185. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, the Lord will appear to us in prayer.

17 August 2021
“‘The Lord will appear to you.’”

Leviticus 9
3 “Then say to the Israelites: ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without defect—for a burnt offering,
4 and an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the Lord, together with a grain offering mixed with olive oil. For today the Lord will appear to you.’”

The Lord Appears to Elijah

There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1Kings 19:9, 11-13

The Lord appeared to Solomon twice.

Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom, a discerning heart to govern the people of Israel and to distinguish between right and wrong (1 Kings 3:9).

The Lord Appears to Solomon

2 Chronicles 7
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace,
12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.”

I saw the following fb post (which I have rephrased) the other day, the original was posted 1 April 2020.

The Lord will appear to us in prayer.

I invite you to meditate on these verses.

2 Chronicles 7

""Hear my prayer, LORD; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly. In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days. So I said: "Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations. The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you" (Psalm 102:1-2, 23-24, 28). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

14 January 2018"

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
