240. Not one of all the Lord's good promises failed: His promises have been thoroughly tested.

14 January 2022
Not one of all the Lord’s good promises failed.

Joshua 21
45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

Psalm 119
65 Do good to your servant
    according to your word, Lord.
140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested,
    and your servant loves them.

In one particular prayer meeting at church, we dwelt on spending time reading the Bible, to wit:

• 30 March 2016
• Prayer Begins With Me
• “WORN OUT”
• “Is your Bible worn out?”
• “Every believer should wreck
a copy of the Bible every
     10 years.”
• “In the margin of many
      pages in D.L. Moody’s
      Bible, he wrote the letters
      T and P, meaning
      “Tried and Proved” .
• This is an encouragement.
Once upon a time, our life
       seemed falling apart, and
       we recovered by God’s
       grace.
• This can also be a rebuke, if
       our priorities are not in
       accordance with
       teachings in the Bible.
• Are we trying to keep away
       from God?
• Every time we try to distance
from God, trying to have a
       good time, we are in
       trouble. Every time. - Billy
       Graham
• King David tried to have a
       good time, then he
       committed adultery and
       murder.
• We may reason out that our
       situation may be not that
       complicated.
• But still, every time we miss
       our time of devotion, our
time of prayer, our time of
       reading the Word, we are
       in trouble. That’s every
       time.
• Prayer and meditating on the
       Word goes together.
• Prayer is two-way
       communication; God
       speaks to us through the
       Bible.
• Needless to say, the Bible is
meant to be bread for our
       daily consumption, not
       cake for special
       occasions.
• Prayer points:
      1. Adoration
      2. Confession
      3. Thanksgiving
      4. Supplication
      5. Spouse, Parents,
        Children, Family
      6. Grief or Fear
      7. Financial Needs
      8. Addiction
      9. Illness
    10.Special Intention

The theme for said prayer meeting was inspired by Our Daily Bread devotional.

One of the Lord's good promises.

I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty.
“Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:10-12

"Lord, "Your promises have been thoroughly tested,
    and your servant loves them.
My eyes stay open through the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promises.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
The Lord upholds all who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever"
(Psalm 119:140, 148; 145:13-14, 9, 3, 2). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

11 March 2018"

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
