Joshua 3
7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses."
Isaiah 41
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Joshua became the leader of the Israelites, succeeding Moses, who was referred to as the man of God (Deuteronomy 33:1).
The Lord was with Moses, delivering the Israelites from Egyptians with the parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14).
The Lord promised to be with Joshua as He was with Moses. Joshua 1:5
The Lord was with Joshua, bringing the Israelites into the Promised Land with the parting of the Jordan river.
Crossing the Jordan
And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.
Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’”
And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”
Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,
the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground. Joshua 3:7-8, 13, 15-17
Joshua was successful.
Joshua 1
8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Yet Joshua was successful not on his own means.
Joshua 23
14 “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”
Joshua was successful because not one of all the promises the Lord gave has failed, every promise has been fulfilled.
In school or career, one is considered successful when he has excelled with his own ability, he takes the credit.
Pastor Clem lived a very significant life. I was privileged to be mentored by this modern day bondservant of God.
From livingmagazine website/a-life-of-significance/amp/
A significant life isn’t one that is always noticed by many, but one that has meaning and purpose. Significance does not come from natural abilities, gifting, or talent, but from who He is in us.
Joshua was successful, more specifically, he lived a very significant life. He gave the credit of his success to the Lord's faithfulness to His promises.
Moses, the man of God, dedicated his life to the Lord. That was when the parting of the Red Sea happened.
Joshua, who considered himself as the Lord's servant (Joshua 5:14), dedicated his life to the Lord. That was when the parting of the Jordan River happened.
On our own, success is when the incredible happens. With the Lord in us, it is when miracles happen.
""Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”" (Matthew 28:18-20). Lord, God with us, Immanuel, You are the everlasting God; there is no God like You, this I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

May you be blessed with God's Word.
Maraming salamat.
