"Rosario Rivera was the assistant of the famed revolutionary Che Guevara.

She has been a revolutionary most of her life. Born out of wedlock in Lima, Peru, she grew up filled with anger over her poverty and hunger. Eventually, anger turned to hatred toward her mother, her teachers, and the system that had spawned her. At age thirteen she had given up school and was deeply involved in reading Marx and Lenin. By eighteen she was a militant revolutionary and a communist.

She went to Cuba and became Guevara's assistant. Upon his death she became all the more bitter and returned to Peru. That time, another revolutionary was in Peru, Luis Palau. But he was a different revolutionary. His commitment is to the Master, not Marxism.

Palau was speaking in the bull area in December 1971 when Rivera decided that she had to kill him. She was enraged while listening to Palau's radio program in Spanish.

With a gun she went to the arena. Trying to maneuver into position, she came forward joining three hundred people to receive Christ as personal Lord and Savior. A little old lady who was a counselor walked up to her and said, "Madam, can I help you receive Christ?" Not knowing how to respond, Rivera hit the old lady in the face and ran away.

But as she tried to sleep that night, God kept taking the words of Palau's message and pushing her toward the cross.

After that sleepless night, Rivera fell to her knees and received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

Palau says, "The Lord absolutely revolutionized this Marxist guerilla. Today she is an amazing testimony to the transforming power of the Word of God."


Amazing story. Amazing grace. There is forgiveness with Jesus Christ.

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:16-17
