Sins and does what is forbidden.

Leviticus 4

 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘When anyone sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands—

3 If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.’”

1 John 1

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Leviticus 3 - The Fellowship Offering

It's fellowship offering in the NIV Bible while in other translations it's peace offering.

“In contrast to the burnt offering, the sacrifice of a peace offering could be either a male or female animal. However, the animal still had to be without blemish.

The peace offering was not an offering to make peace with God (this was the purpose of the sin offering of Leviticus 4), but an offering to enjoy peace with God.

The greatest peace offering ever made happened when Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice on the cross. His sacrifice not only paid the penalty of our sin, but He also made peace between the believer and God that can now be enjoyed: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).” From enduringword website /bible-commentary/leviticus-3

Leviticus 4 - The Sin Offering

““Sin offering” is a perfectly acceptable translation of the Hebrew term in Leviticus 4, but what the sin offering actually accomplished is better seen in the words purification offering. The sin offering purified the sanctuary; it removed the defilement of sin that occurred when the people broke the covenant.

Unintentional sins and sins of omission were dealt with in the sin offering. These were sins people committed in ignorance of the Mosaic code or when they forgot those laws they had learned. Sins committed with a “high hand” were not covered (Num. 15:22–31). A high-handed sin is one a professing believer commits boldly and defiantly, not caring about the consequences and feeling no guilt about it once committed.

The truly converted will not commit high-handed sins, though they may commit sins of intention, albeit only after and during a struggle against the flesh (Rom. 7:7–25).” From ligonier website   /learn/devotionals/sin-offering/

The story of David.

The Lord sought out David, a man after His own heart, to be the second king of Israel replacing Saul. 1 Samuel 14:13-14

David later committed adultery by taking Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah who was serving in his army. 2 Samuel 11:4

To cover up his sin, David committed murder by premeditating the death of Uriah in battle. 2 Samuel 11:15

The Lord sent Nathan to David to confront of his sins. 2 Samuel 12:1-12

David admitted his sins.

Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”

Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 2 Samuel 12:13

David confessed to his sins.

Psalm 51

A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,

    according to your unfailing love;

according to your great compassion

    blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash away all my iniquity

    and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,

    and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned

    and done what is evil in your sight;

so you are right in your verdict

    and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,

    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;

    and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;

    you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;

    a broken and contrite heart

    you, God, will not despise.

18 May it please you to prosper Zion,

    to build up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,

    in burnt offerings offered whole;

    then bulls will be offered on your altar.

The story of Apostle Paul.

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:14-16

I am grateful, the Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

""You, God, know my folly; my guilt is not hidden from you. But I pray to you, LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation" (Psalm 69:5, 13). "Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin" (Psalm 32:5). "I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving" (Psalm 69:30), in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Someday, my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, if we confess our sins, the Lord our God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.
