The Glory of the Lord

Exodus 40
34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Psalm 104
31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
    may the Lord rejoice in his works—
32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
    who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

1a: praise, honor, or distinction extended by common consent : RENOWN

b: worshipful praise, honor, and thanksgiving
giving glory to God

In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out;
but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted.
So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels. Exodus 40:36-38

The Israelites were witnesses to the glory of God during the 40 years that they were in the wilderness.

“Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.
For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.” Nehemiah 9:18-19, 21

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God

Psalm 19
A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.

There is no God apart from the Lord.

I am the Lord, and there is no other;
    apart from me there is no God. Isaiah 45:5

As we utter in prayer, the Lord our God deserves all the praises and we give back all the glory to Him.

Jesus Christ is Lord.

Every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
    to the glory of God the Father.
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
    and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
    in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:11, 9-10

No One Is Righteous.

As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
there is no one who understands;
    there is no one who seeks God. Romans 3:23, 10-11

Righteousness Through Faith

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:21-22,24

The Lord is faithful. Jesus Christ is faithful.

If we are faithless,
    he remains faithful,
    for he cannot disown himself. 2 Timothy 2:13

Not to us, Lord, not to us
    but to your name be the glory,
    because of your love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1

Psalm 8
A psalm of David.

1 Lord, our Lord,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
    in the heavens.

""Though the LORD is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar. May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great" (Psalm 138:6, 5). "May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD" (Psalm 104:34). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

9 January 2018"

One day, my children's children will say, "Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, all the glory belongs to the Lord our God."

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
