178. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. He is grateful, the Lord has given him skill and ability.

The Lord has given skill and ability.

Exodus 35
30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills.

Exodus 36
1 So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.”

Do Not Forget the Lord

Deuteronomy 8
18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

From yourdictionary website/skill:

The definition of a skill is a talent or ability that comes from training or practice.

An example of skill is the capability to produce fine works of art."

The New Testament speaks of Spiritual Gifts.

What is the difference between a talent and a spiritual gift?

From gotquestions website/difference-talent-spiritual-gift.html:

First Corinthians 12:7 states that spiritual gifts are given to benefit others and not ourselves. As the two great commandments deal with loving God and others, it follows that one should use his talents for those purposes. But to whom and when talents and spiritual gifts are given differs.

A person (regardless of his belief in God or in Christ) is given a natural talent as a result of a combination of genetics (some have natural ability in music, art, or mathematics) and surroundings (growing up in a musical family will aid one in developing a talent for music), or because God desired to endow certain individuals with certain talents (for example, Bezalel in Exodus 31:1-6).

Spiritual gifts are given to all believers by the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:3, 6) at the time they place their faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. At that moment, the Holy Spirit gives to the new believer the spiritual gift(s) He desires the believer to have (1 Corinthians 12:11)."

From christianity website/wiki/christian-life/difference-between-talent-and-spiritual-gifts:

One of the differences between a spiritual gift and a talent is that spiritual gifts are received while natural talents are inherited. This means that a person inherits a talent from their mother or father, therefore having a genetic component.

For example, a man inherits his father’s talent in mathematics and that is why he also becomes a good mathematician. Another example is when a woman inherits her mother's singing voice and that is why she is good at singing. These are natural talents that are passed down from generation to generation in the family.

Spiritual gifts, on the other hand, are received by a person once they have received salvation. It is given from the hands of the Holy Spirit according to the will of the Father. We are reminded by this in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11."

You may be asking why prayer is not listed among the spiritual gifts. It is that the gift of prayer is for everyone, unlike in the case of prophecy or speaking in tongues.

Prayer is communing with our Abba Father and invoking the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. Prayer is a gift even manifested in young children.

The Lord told his disciples the parable of the persistent widow and the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 8:1-14

I am grateful, the Lord has given me the ability for writing related blogs which I consider a privilege in Christ, and what I write I would leave behind for my children to pass on to their children and their children's children.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

We owe gratitude to the Lord. Let us remember what the Lord said to the Israelites.

“You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.”
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down,
and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,
then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” Deuteronomy 8:17-18, 12-14

""Praise the Lord, O my soul. .... remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today (Deuteronomy 8:18). Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the LORD (Psalm 128:1, 2, 4). May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands" (Psalm 90:17). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

7 January 2018"

One day my children's children will say,  wala ka sa Lolo ko; he is grateful, the Lord has given him skill and ability.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
