168. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, the Lord Jesus is our Healer.

“I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Exodus 15
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.
26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

The Lord issued a ruling and instruction to put the Israelites to test because earlier the people grumbled.

Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water.
When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.)
So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Exodus 15:22-24

The Israelites who came out of Egypt, that particular generation, did not pass the test, they continued to grumble, such that they did not enter the Promised Land, except Joshua and Caleb (Deuteronomy 1:35-36). Even Moses did not, he saw the land only from a distance (Deuteronomy 32:52).

I am the Lord, who heals you.

The Lord Jesus is our Healer.

Jesus Heals the Sick
Matthew 4
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Matthew 9
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

I searched on Google "How many healings are recorded in the Gospels?", and here's a screenshot of what leads to a pdf file.

Yesterday I had teleconsultation with a gastroenterologist. Last week I was really bothered by abdominal spasms. I had polypectomy June 2019 and I should have had my follow-up check-up after a year but came the covid pandemic.

I was arranging an appointment with my gastroenterologist who performed the endoscopy and colonoscopy prior to the polypectomy done by my colorectal surgeon. I was advised that my gastroenterologist is in Singapore and I was referred to the gastroenterologist-father of my gastroenterologist.

During the start of the teleconsultation via viber, the doctor asked my age, to which I replied I am 60, and then he told me he is older at 72. I should say he is patient-friendly.

Towards the end, the doctor asked me my religion, and I said I am a Christian. He asked further what denomination, and I replied Evangelical. I told him I became a Christian at age 44, when I was sick and had no money for the college education of my children, and the Lord provided for the college education of my children, and the Lord at the same time restored my health. He replied, it's good I am a Christian.

It's the first time I had such personal level of conversation with a doctor.

Kindly include me in your prayers, for healing from my abdominal spasm; include other people who come to your mind who are suffering from illness.

"You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me. Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead" (Psalm 86:5, 7, 8, 11-13). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

28 December 2017"

My children's children will someday say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, the Lord Jesus is our Healer.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
