166. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

The people bowed down and worshiped.

Exodus 12
25 “When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony.
26 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’
27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’” Then the people bowed down and worshiped.

The Lord passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared them when He struck down the Egyptians.

The Lord had seen the misery of His people, the Israelites (Exodus 3:7), and freed them from slavery in Egypt.

In gratitude, the Israelites bowed down and worshiped the Lord.

Exodus 20
1 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.”

But it did not take long, the Israelites worshiped an idol cast in the shape of a calf (Exodus 32:4).

Idol worship would then continue to be the struggle of the Israelites, forgetting that the Lord brought them out of slavery in Egypt.

After Moses, Joshua became the leader of the Israelites when they were to enter the Promised Land.

Joshua would later remind the Israelites of the Lord's commandments.

Joshua 24
14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—
because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Romans 6:4-7

We are no longer slaves to sin, we have been set free from sin through faith in Lord Jesus Christ.

At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:10

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11

In gratitude, I bow down and worship Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

"In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed (Daniel 7:13-14). Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, I bow down and worship You, this is my prayer in Jesus' name. Amen.

26 December 2017"

"Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.", this my children's children will utter someday.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
