164. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For him, there is no one like the Lord our God.

There is no one like the Lord our God. Exodus 8:10

Exodus 8
8 Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”
9 Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.” Exodus 7:1, 5

The Lord has made Moses like God.

Yet Moses said to Pharaoh that there is no one like the Lord God.

Moses is said to be about forty years old when he had to escape to Midian, being afraid after it became known that he had killed an Egyptian. Exodus 2:11-15

Moses was eighty years old when he came back to Egypt after God told him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. Exodus 7:7

Moses changed from being aggressive, living then as an Egyptian Prince, to being meek after being a shepherd in Midian for about forty years.

The Lord has made Moses like God, yet Moses honored God before Pharaoh by saying that there is no one like the Lord God.

For us senior people, how would you describe your attitude when you were around forty, and now that you may be retired from work?

In my case, I was competitive; I was not bothered being separated from the company on early retirement at age 37. I earned a special award the previous year before I left the company. Then three years later, I was again separated from employment.

The next five years changed me; my attitude changed.

I had difficulty getting a stable job. I would at times find myself cooking for my children before they come from school. I would do some plumbing at home and climbing inside the house ceiling to install wires for the shower water heater. I would go buying baking supplies for my wife who was earning from cakes and pastries which at times I would be the one to deliver to customers.

It was humbling, I was driving a company car and dressed up going to office in Alabang few years earlier. I cannot reconcile what happened to me. Little by little, I would pity myself. I went abroad for jobs twice but things did not work out well. My health deteriorated.

All the while I was in crisis, the Lord provided for my family's needs especially for the college education of my children. The Lord is a Gracious God.

I give all the honor, praises and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ.

"I will not die but live,
and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
The Lord has chastened me severely,
but he has not given me over to death." Psalm 118:17-18

Sharing the lyrics of the song "There Is None Like You" by Lenny LeBlanc

There Is None Like You,
No One Else Can Touch My Heart Like You Do,
I Can Search For All Eternity Lord
And Find, There Is None Like You.

There Is None Like You.
No One Else Can Touch My Heart Like You Do,
I Can Search For All Eternity Lord
And Find, There Is None Like You.

Your Mercy Flows Like A River So Wide,
And Healing Comes From Your Hand.
Suffering Children Are Safe In Your Arms,
There Is None Like You.

There Is None Like You.
No One Else Can Touch My Heart Like You Do,
I Can Search For All Eternity Lord
And Find, There Is None Like You.

There Is None Like You,
No One Else Can Touch My Heart Like You Do,
I Can Search For All Eternity Lord
And Find, There Is None Like You.

I Can Search For All Eternity Lord,
There Is None Like You.
I Can Search For All Eternity Lord,
There Is None, (There Is None,)
There Is None Lord,
There Is None Like You.

"Lord God, bless our nation the Philippines - "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance" (Psalm 33:12). "Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security" (Jeremiah 33:6). "My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people" (Ezekiel 37:27). Dwell among us, Lord God, Immanuel, God with us, heal our land ; this I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

24 December 2017"

One day my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, there is no one like the Lord our God.

May you be blessed with God's Word. Amen.

Maraming salamat.
