Great and marvelous is our God.

Revelation 15
2 They held harps given them by God 
3 and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
    Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
    King of the nations.
4 Who will not fear you, Lord,
    and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
    and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”


Marvelous.

If I have a big house, I would be marvelous.


If I have golf shares in a country club, I would be marvelous.

What I have is a set of second hand golf clubs.

If I have a brand new MPV fully paid, I would be marvelous.

I have a 13-year old MPV bought from an in-law at a brother's price.

If I retired as an oil company executive with millions, I would be marvelous.


If I go on trips to US and Europe for leisure, I would be marvelous.

My wife Marlou and I were able to visit relatives in the US in 2017 because my leaves were monetized, otherwise nothing for airfare and some modest shopping.

If I matriculated my children for college in top university, I would be marvelous.

I wrote application letter for scholarship for each of my 2 daughters; my son enjoyed free tuition for some semesters because of my employment.

If I have MD PhD after my name, I would be marvelous.

Mine is Mukhang Doctor Pero hindi Doctor.

If I am landed with various properties, I would be marvelous.

What I have, lupa sa paso at lupa sa kuko.


"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:1-3


My two daughters attended Ateneo at a time I had no stable income.

Great and marvelous is our God.

The house was to be foreclosed by the bank, a friend bought it and we were able to pay all debts.

Great and marvelous is our God.

I suffered psychosomatic depression, but the Lord did not give me over to death.

Great and marvelous is our God.

Marlou and I now have 5 grandchildren born between 2017-2020, my son has 2 sons. Today is the 1st birthday of our youngest grandson Giting, born at the start of the pandemic last year.

Great and marvelous is our God.
I would hear Pastor Clem over the radio in 2004, then I met him personally in 2007, and got to be among those whom he mentored, it was up close and personal, including rounds of golf.

Great and marvelous is our God.

Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman

Matthew 9
18 While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” 
19 Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.

22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

Jesus Heals the Blind and the Mute

27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 
30 and their sight was restored.

32 While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. 
33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”



Sharing my prayer, part of my reflection 6 November 2017.

"Lord, I praise You, "Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever" Psalm 86:8, 10, 13, 11, 12). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen."

One day, my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, great and marvelous is our God.
