Worthy is the Lamb. Amen.

Revelation 5
12 In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Amen, concluding word or a response to a prayer. That's the easy part.

It is prayer that we have to labor. Who likes leading in prayer?

Our Youth Pastor, Pastor Ian would quip when it comes to leading prayer, Batman would emerge. Bat Ako?

Prayer is communing with God, the maker of the heavens and the earth.

It is our appointment with our Abba, Father.

Abba (ab-bah), meaning "Father", used as term of tender endearment by a beloved child.

Galatians 4
6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

His Son Jesus Christ appealed to God the Father, in prayer at Gethsemane.

Mark 14
36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

It is said that our earthly father is our image of our Heavenly Father. Our affection for our earthly father helps us develop affection for our Heavenly Father.

Our Dear Pastor Clem would say the casualty of having an OFW for a father is the affection of the children. Stories of fathers lavishly providing gifts to their children, yet when they come home, maybe once a year, the communication gap is evident.

In the case of our communing with God, gap will develop when we spend less time in prayer. Our prayer will reflect the affection we have with our Heavenly Father. Do we have that fondness spending time in prayer?

An affectionate child will be eager to share with his father his activities in school and get help from him with his homework. Such endearment knows no schedule and time limit, affection is quality time.

We need to spend time and labor in prayer. We will not develop that endearment unless we do it with consistency.

"Prayer does involve petition and intercession, but it also includes communion. In petition God does something FOR us, in intercession He does something THROUGH us, and in communion He does something IN us.

Communion is the line that connects our soul with the battery of God’s power. When this line is down, our petitions are but idle chatter. God’s power must flow into our lives as we bow before Him and recognize Him as Lord of all. Communion with God is a great privilege and the most important element of prayer."

We close our prayer, in Jesus' name. Amen. Let us mean what we say, and that depends on the content of our prayer, before saying, Amen.

John Testifies About Jesus

John 1
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

The Lamb of God in words of the Prophet Isaiah

Isaiah 53
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. Amen.

to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!” Amen.

Sharing my prayer, part of my reflection 1 November 2017.

“Lord, “Surely You took up my pain and bore my suffering, yet I considered You punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on You the iniquity of us all. After You have suffered, You will see the light of life and be satisfied; by Your knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and You will bear my iniquities” (Isaiah 53:4, 6, 11) “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13). This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen and Amen.”

“If you want to follow Jesus because He’ll fix your marriage, if you want to follow Jesus because He’ll give you a better life, that’s idolatry. Follow Christ for the sake of Christ; He is worthy!”
— Paul Washer

Follow Christ for the sake of Christ, He is worthy. Amen.

One day my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Amen.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
