Righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ

Hebrews 13
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
6 So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”

Let me share my reflection 19 October 2017.

"Recreation. So relishing when looking back at life's trials.

James 1
Trials and Temptations
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Last Monday, work in government offices was suspended due to the transport strike. Two meetings should have been held at the office. Instead, I was at the golf course, recreation and a way to recharge the body and the mind. At the same time, a way to relish the grace of God, having started playing golf in 2000, and suffering severe illness twice, not knowing if I would be able to play golf again.

What a blessing from the Lord to be able to afford physical exercise, away from busyness, to recharge the body and the mind, then to wake up the following morning to read the news, still no work, hence a day to rest aching muscles.

Faith is like that. Faith becomes stronger when one perseveres under trials. The more severe the physical exercise, the stronger the body. The more severe life's trials, the stronger the faith.

"Lord, continue to help me persevere in trials, I accept "These have come so that the proven genuineness of my faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. In all this I greatly rejoice, though now for a little while I may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials (1 Peter 1:7, 6). So again, Lord, I say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid (Hebrews 13:6). Lord, praise, honor and glory are Yours, this I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.""

Hebrews 13
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

I have given my life not to a dead Christ but to a living Christ and I'm following a living Savior.
He has given me a song to sing.
He has given me a flag to follow.
He has given me something to believe.
I have reason for existence!
I know where I come from, I know why I'm here.
I know where I'm going.
Do you?" (Billy Graham)

You met some atheist that had not had any real trouble yet.
But you find the person who claims he is an atheist and let someone announce to him that he has terminal, and you say, my God help him.
Or he'd get into a battle, or into a difficult spot, he'll say, my God help me.
Yes, all men know there must be a God.

The Bible tells us that God is unchanging, He never changes.
Every part of our culture and life changes.
But God never changes.
The Bible says, I am the Lord God, I change not.
Ten thousand times ten thousand years from now, God will be the same.
God is from everlasting to everlasting. God does not change.

God is a God of love and mercy and grace, and that God loves everybody.
He is interested in you, and He loves you.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (Billy Graham)

I have put my faith in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.

One day my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; as for him, the Lord is our helper, we shall not be afraid.

May you be blessed with God's Word.

Maraming salamat.
