Hebrews 10
16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”
17 Then he adds:
“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”
Let me share my reflection 17 October 2017.
"God's mercy. "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
The Blood of Christ
Hebrews 9
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
"The man who killed Prophet Isaiah.
According to oral Rabbinical tradition, King Manasseh of Judah executed the Prophet Isaiah by having him sawn asunder (cf. Hebrews 11:37). Manasseh, descendant of David, king of Judah and ancestor of Jesus Christ, was the embodiment of evil.
During his reign, he sought to undo all the good his father Hezekiah had done. He stood in stark contrast to king Hezekiah, as well as his grandson, the good king Josiah.
As a horrible, terrible testimony of how corrupt he had become, the Bible says that Manasseh even caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom (2 Chronicles 33:6). This depraved king offered some of his own children as burnt sacrifices to heathen gods.
Before we can fully understand King Manasseh, who was one of the most wicked kings who ever lived, we must first look at his father, King Hezekiah.
In 2 Chronicles Chapter 32 and 2 Kings Chapter 20 we learn that Hezekiah got deathly ill and the Prophet Isaiah gave him a message from the Lord to get his affairs in order because he was going to die. Hezekiah pleaded with the Lord, so the Lord granted him 15 more years to live.
Just 3 short years later, a boy was born to King Hezekiah and Queen Hephzibah. The name given their child, Manasseh, means “one who causes to forget."
Hezekiah found in the birth of his son a reason, a person, who could make him forget that his life had nearly ended just three years earlier.
Late in Manasseh's 55-year reign, Assyria attacked Jerusalem, captured Manasseh, and placed him in a prison 1,000 miles away.
Humiliated and powerless, he sat in his cell and remembered his father's days. He began to pray, confessing his sin and asking the LORD's help. The LORD heard Manasseh's prayer, freed him, and returned him to his throne in Jerusalem.
In affliction, Manasseh implored the Lord, and humbled himself (2 Chronicles 33:12-16).
In a testament of God's mercy, and without any merit on Manasseh's part, God heard Manasseh's prayer and brought him back to Jerusalem (33:13). The Scriptures say "Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God" (2 Chronicles 33:13)."

These are still current,
"But “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” (Romans 5:20). Against the backdrop of Manasseh’s excessive brutality and perverse idol worship, God sent His saving grace. He is “Longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
Manasseh, "one who causes to forget", an attribute of God; He causes to forget and forgive our sins."
"Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread (Matthew 6:9-11). Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us" (Luke 11:4). Lord, "Therefore, if I am offering my gift at the altar and there I remember that a brother or sister has something against me, I shall leave my gift there in front of the altar. First I go and be reconciled to them; then I come and offer my gift (Matthew 5:23-24). Lord, if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just and will forgive my sins and purify me from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9). I shall "Bear with another and forgive another if I have grievance against him; forgiving as You, Lord, forgave me (Colossians 3:13), by the Holy Spirit in me. This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen."'
I have offended somebody many years ago and when it comes to my mind, I told myself I will apologize at my first opportunity. I did not know where to contact him. It was just recently that I went on fb and got that opportunity. I sent him an fb friend request and he accepted it.
I immediately sent a messenger message, hello.....kumusta. He later replied, hello, nice to be in contact with you, kumusta ka naman. He gave his family's whereabouts implying they are doing well.
I replied back, I apologized for my actuations, I said I hope he can forgive me for my trespasses. I mentioned, the Lord has been so good to me all these years, wala na akong mahihiling pa. I also said, I am praying for good health for all of us.
He replied back, no hard feelings after all the years, you know me, let bygones be bygones. I responded, maraming salamat.
Another situation, it was about 15 years ago. After I went through midlife crisis and I recovered, I shared in the email group what I went through and the kindness of God for a second life; I shared my whereabouts and my contact number. Later, I got a call from a someone in the email group, he said he also went through affliction and he realized that what I have been telling him way back was for his own good, he indirectly was apologizing. He had a bad temper back then, and when he called me, he was sober. Just recently, we also got connected again on fb.
Ezekiel 36
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Manasseh, "one who causes to forget", an attribute of God; He causes to forget and forgive our sins.
My children's children will one day say, wala ka sa Lolo; as for him, God causes to forget and forgive our sins. Amen.
May you be blessed with God's Word.
Maraming salamat.
