Amazing grace! How sweet the sound.

Let me share my reflection 24 September 2017.

“Galatians 5
Life by the Spirit
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Apostle Paul made the connection between the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the cross, grace through faith in Him, and the work of grace in us which is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5
Freedom in Christ
4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.

Galatians 6
Doing Good to All
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6
15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.

And Apostle Paul makes a warning.

Galatians 5
2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

Galatians 5
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

Lord, the evidence of Your grace given to me is the grace I give to others; the evidence of the love You have given me is the love I give to others. Grace begets grace, love begets love, grace begets love. Lord, if I, which is impossible, live a perfect life worthy of eternal life, then I owe nobody, that I need not do a good turn to others. I thank You, Lord, Loving God, for Your grace, and for the Holy Spirit enabling me to bear fruit of goodwill; I praise You, in Jesus' name. Amen.””

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound. The song written by John Newton, the story of God's amazing grace.

“This same grace is available to all who call upon God, for “in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7).

Amazing Grace By: Philip Yancey, from Our Daily Bread.

Notorious for cursing and blasphemy, Newton served on a slave ship during the cruelest days of trans-Atlantic slavery, finally working his way up to captain.

A dramatic conversion on the high seas set him on the path to grace. He always felt a sense of undeservedness for his new life. He became a rousing evangelical preacher and eventually a leader in the abolitionist movement.

Newton described any good in himself as an outworking of God’s grace. In doing so, he stands with these great heroes—a murderer and adulterer (King David), a coward (the apostle Peter), and a persecutor of Christians (the apostle Paul).”

Yes. This same grace is available to all who call upon God, for “in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

For by grace you have been saved through faith. — Ephesians 2:8

In time, my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; for him, grace begets grace.

The peace of God and His grace be upon you. Amen.

Maraming salamat.
