1Timothy 1
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
Here's my reflection 5 October 2017 which I have updated.
"Straight from the horse's mouth.
Meaning, from the highest authority.
Apostle Paul knows what he is talking about, he was emphasizing it when writing this epistle. He was speaking from experience.
1 Timothy 1
13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
That is why he was unhappy with false teachings.
1 Timothy 1
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer
4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith.
We did a safety walk-thru at a project site with the Vice President of the Contractor company, with Project Engineers joining along; earlier I informed him of serious safety infractions. I made suggestions on correcting the situation, towards the end he acknowledged my input.
Then I saw a worker lifting a sandbag and I noticed he was wearing a ring on his finger. I told the VP and the Project Engineers that the ring could cause serious injury when caught on a protrusion or a weld spot on metal bars. I said I have to admit I had such accident and I had to go to the hospital for the doctor to cut the deformed ring from my blooded finger using a sterilized vault cutter. I requested that this safety item be taken up in the safety committee meeting and safety toolbox meeting.
"Lord, let my experience communicate to others the grace of God. May people who hear my story listen to the sincerity of my words and give credence to my testimony. I have gone through and survived severe adversity which can only be attributed to Your compassion and faithfulness. Lord, those who suffer You deliver in their suffering; You speak to them in their affliction (Job 36:15). Lord, I attest You are safe refuge and true strength, and ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, holy is Your name, You be glorified, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.""
"What's the meaning of the phrase 'Straight from the horse's mouth'?
From the highest authority.
What's the origin of the phrase 'Straight from the horse's mouth'?
In horse racing circles tips on which horse is a likely winner circulate amongst punters. The most trusted authorities are considered to be those in closest touch with the recent form of the horse, that is, stable lads, trainers etc. The notional 'from the horse's mouth' is supposed to indicate one step better than even that inner circle, that is, the horse itself."
Something I wrote 25 August 2019 when I was slowly recovering from minor medical procedure, and about to complete 6-month PTB medication by October.
"The psychology of comfort.
When you are down with your problems, try helping the less fortunate. Then you will feel the joy being blessed, not necessarily helping the less fortunate financially.
Everyone could be capable of giving words of encouragement, then you get that great feeling, your heart beats gratitude, for the blessings from God even in midst of trials.
Our God. He is an Experiential God.
No faith is genuine, unless it is faith which has been tested by fire.
2 Corinthians 1
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."
My children's children will one day say, wala ka sa Lolo ko; he got it "Straight from the horse's mouth." Amen.
May you find comfort and strength in God's Word.
Maraming salamat.
Praying a lot of people will get to read your blogs. They are very indepth and awe-inspiring. As always am blessed. Glory to God for using you and your life story for His glory.
