13. Wala ka sa Lolo ko. For all his sins, he is not condemned; he has been forgiven.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:11).

The woman caught in adultery. Stoning is the sentence for adultery in the Old Testament.

Before proceeding, I thought mentioning the man caught in adultery. Before being an adulterer, and a murderer at that, David, Shepherd King of Israel, in the words of Lord God, is man after His own heart. The Lord Jesus was born as a descendant of David. You may want to read the Bible to know more about David. Also here is blog copy of related reflection on the life of David: http://picoygonzales.blogspot.com/2020/09/man-after-gods-own-heartgive-and-it.html

The sin of adultery.

Matthew 5
Adultery
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

I had been guilty of adultery. I take judgment for my sins, going through Exodus Chapter 20, The Ten Commandments.

Guilty. I worshipped myself, I went after money.

Guilty. I had an image of the Sacred Heart that I bought in Paete, Laguna.

Guilty. I swore things in the name of God in vain.

Guilty. I regarded day of rest for pleasure.

Guilty. I answered back at my father and my mother.

Guilty. Murder
Matthew 5
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Guilty. Adultery.

Guilty. I took office time for personal use.

Guilty. I passed fault on others; I gossiped.

Guilty. I envied those with big houses, flashy cars; I envied jetsetters.

Verdict: Guilty. 10 out of 10.

I am more sinful than the woman caught in adultery.

Psalm 130
3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
    Lord, who could stand?
4 But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
2 Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
    to my cry for mercy.

The testimony of Apostle Paul. Long before this, he as Saul, a Pharisee, permitted the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7:58). He found forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

Acts 13
37 But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.
38 “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
39 Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.

I believed in Jesus Christ and have put my faith in Him as my personal Lord and Savior, 16 years ago.

Romans 1
Life Through the Spirit
8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Some day, my children's children will say, wala ka sa Lolo ko, for all his sins, he is not condemned, he has been forgiven, even adopted as son of God. Amen.

No one is righteous.

Romans 3
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1
Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—
6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,
9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

Saved in Order to Do Good
Titus 3
8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

The woman caught in adultery found forgiveness in Jesus.

John 8
3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group
4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”
6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.
7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

John 8
8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
