John 16
The Disciples’ Grief Will Turn to Joy
21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

If this were reality and I were that person, my children's children will one day say, wala ka sa Lolo ko, he is an overcomer, he has overcome the world.

1 John 5
5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. (John 7:7)

Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. (John 15:23).

Say you have been confronted by a perplexing predicament to choose what is morally right under pressure from high people, and when you did, you realize you have fallen out of grace.

There is somebody close to my heart who has been accused of corruption.

He, still recuperating from some illness, was able to get employment with a government institution. He got employed doing office work as contractual employee entitled to government service insurance.

After quite some time, he was approached for the job as acting head of an office. He initially hesitated due to employee discipline issues at said office.

He sought guidance from his Pastor who encouraged him to take on the job as it could pave way to permanent employment.

He took the job facing resistance for his efforts to impose employee discipline and improve office image. But in his first months on the job, the office received an award.

Things took a turn when he was asked to explain his decision to return the credentials of  a certain job applicant. It was simply due to incomplete requirements in adherence to set guidelines.

He stood his ground and was sustained by the overseeing committee, but after sometime was removed from the position.

Long story short, after investigations, he was cleared of any wrongdoing having just adhered to procedures set by administration.

Meanwhile, he was rendered contractual with no employer-employee relationship hence no government service insurance.

The upside, his earned leaves were monetized which afforded him and his wife to join a family group on a trip to the US to visit relatives. God works in mysterious ways.

He lived to the decision he made and the consequence.

1 Peter 3
14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”
15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Amen.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. (Proverbs 22:1)
